Them Teeth
RIYL: Young Widows, Karp, Akimbo, These Arms are Snakes, Helms Alee, Retox and Whores
The latest addition to the Triple Eye Industries roster comes in the form of Western Michigan trio Them Teeth. Forming in 2013 from the ashes of Supercontinent, Rough Rope and Mean Mother, singer and guitarist Ben Roeske and drummer Adam Tatro completed the lineup in 2014, inviting bassist Jason Harris to join after meeting him via Craigslist (no, really).
The band’s self released demo was recorded in June of that year, seeing a release later on that summer. Its six songs showcased the band’s affinity for heavy guitars, tight rhythms and shredded vocal chords, all held together with an unsettling dissonance. While the band’s influences – which range from 90s noise rock to the early 2000s Hydra Head Records roster (remember Jesuit?) – are present, Them Teeth aren’t quite easy to pigeonhole, with Roeske‘s frantic screech at times recalling that of forgotten Sacramento heroes Will Haven.
An upcoming split 7″ with France’s Sofy Major will see release via Detroit’s Corpse Flower Records later this year, with another 7″ slated for a mid-to-late summer release through us here at Triple Eye. We are happy to welcome Them Teeth to the Triple Eye Industries family.
