Hot Science

In the futuristic year of 2000, Hot Science, aka Sam Sumner, used the proceeds from his time as a child fashion model to purchase a Korg Triton where his exploration in beatmaking began. Early in his musical career, Hot Science explored the sonic palette of hip-hop under the name Sam Winters along with a unit of emcees, releasing and performing as the ShutDemDown crew. After the disbanding of his quasi-successful rap label in 2009, he began a new, instrumental-focused, direction toward what MJC of Filthybroke Recordings would dub, “juked-out melodic psychedelia”.

His first Triple Eye release, 2020’s “Summoner” EP found Hot Science conjuring more than the usual frenetic, fast-paced beats by pairing his trademark sound of urgency with some slower, dreamlike tracks to balance the mood.

In continuance of his 20 year long musical vision quest, 2024 finds Hot Science joining forces with Triple Eye Industries once again on “Shaman”, a 6 track collection culled from over 3 hours of material he’s been road-testing since the pandemic subsided. Now, fueled with greater resolve than ever before, Hot Science is determined to get gems or die tryin’.

We are proud to announce that Hot Science’s forthcoming EP, “Shaman”, is slated for release on limited CD digipak and all streaming platforms on July 12, 2024, via Triple Eye Industries.
