Vectors of Resonant Prescients

RIYL: John Fahey, Nick Drake, Robbie Basho, Glenn Jones, Soup Moat, Kate Moths, Stock Options

Vectors of Resonant Prescients is the long-running solo studio side project of multi-instrumentalist, Kevin DeMars. Under this moniker, he’s collected recordings of his prolific creative output of material that might not otherwise fit with the many bands he’s been a part of throughout recent years.

Let’s start by mentioning that DeMars is a storied Triple Eye Industries alumni. You may recognize his guitar work from his contributions to label staples such as Soup Moat, Kate Moths and Stock Options or his drumming alongside all three TEI founders in Volunteer. He’s even contributed drum breaks and fills to Guerrilla Ghost and Tron Jovi releases.

A veteran of the Milwaukee music scene, you have likely seen him perform in one of his many creative pursuits: Foreign Lawns, Mother Orchis, Lamb’s Legs, Pink Trilliums, Lisa Frank or Disguised as Birds. He’s an extremely talented, soft-spoken musician with an excellent pedigree and brings a thoughtful subtlety to any project he’s been apart of. Kevin never brags or boasts about his skillset. He doesn’t have to, you can hear it in the music.

Now stripped down and unplugged, DeMars’ latest solo compositions are reminiscent of the acoustic American primitive guitar work from folks like John Fahey, Robbie Basho or Glenn Jones. The melodic sensibilities you hear in his works with bands like Soup Moat or Stock Options, become the centerpiece of these arrangements. As a longtime friend and collaborator of the label, it only makes sense that he’s found a home here with his most direct and intimate batch of songs yet.

We are proud to announce that Vectors of Resonant Prescients’ third full length, Microfiche, is slated for release on July 1, 2022 via Triple Eye Industries.

Release Reviews

TEI-082: Microfiche

There’s wonder, there’s despair, and there’s fortitude that all charge this record like it’s a panel of emotions that can only be unpacked when you get away from it all for a bit. Vectors of Resonant Prescients tell stories through labyrinthine melodies with “Microfiche.”

Ben Slowey, Breaking and Entering

Microfiche is the end product of that therapeutic artistic retreat. DeMars’ serenity is evident throughout the instrumental release that’s rife with delicate finger-picking on soothing-yet-intricate songs. If the world is moving too fast and modern day atrocities have (justifiably) depleted your spirit, take about 35 minutes out of your day to relax, reflect, and embark on an aural getaway with Vectors Of Resonant Prescients by way of Microfiche.
